Venezuelan soccer player Yohandry Orozco, the sensation of the U-20 South American Championship in Peru, informed the press Saturday that he has signed a four-year contract with the German club Wolfsburg.

"I have been dreaming of playing in Europe since I was a child", said Orozco from Arequipa, Peru. "This is something very important to me and my family".

In addition to the "attractive" offer from Wolfsburg, Orozco was contacted by the Spanish soccer club Sevilla and Italian soccer club Palermo.

However, the German club "offered him a four-year contract and guaranteed Yohandry will be in the first team", explained Sadys Orozco, father of the 19-year-old player who scored the so-called "Maradona style" goal at the U-20 South American Championship in Peru.

"I will have to adapt to the team first, but I want to be successful in Germany and grow as a player", added the Venezuelan winger, who did not say how much money the contract is worth. "I will work hard to stand out".

Orozco said he learned the news of his signing after his team's 3-1 defeat by Chile. The loss eliminated Venezuelan squad in the second round of the U-20 South American Championship, which provides two spots for the 2012 London Olympic Games and four slots for the U-20 World Championship in Colombia.

"We all made a huge effort and gave our best to the last minute", he remarked.

The up-and-coming Venezuelan soccer talent also said he hopes to be selected by coach César Farías to be part of the team that will play for Venezuela in the 2011 Copa América in Argentina and in qualifying matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
